Welcome to the Club Francais
de Sacramento
An organization for francophiles and francophones
in the Sacramento area dedicated to the promotion and conservation of the french language and culture.
The club is a fusion of two previous clubs: The Causeries
Francaise, a cultural group founded more than fifty years ago and La boule Gauloise founded 30 years
ago primarily for the sport of petanque.
The cultural aspect
of the club consists of social gatherings, particularly for lectures, dinners and the traditional holidays, such as Mardi
Gras, Bastille Day, Armistice and Christmas.
The game of petanque is played
at the Mather Petanque Courts starting at 1:00 PM every Thursday and the 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month. Its members
compete locallly and throughout the state of California. The club is affiliated
with the Federation of petanque USA and the Federation Francaise de Petanque et Jeu Provencal for participation in World
Wide competition .
